If you share your life with a cat, you have some responsibilities. One of the main ones is to make sure they are fed. But cats, like humans, don't always eat the same food. Cats need a healthy diet. If you have no idea which food is healthy, the change in cats will give you some clues. It is good to follow them. So when should you change the diet of cats?

When should you change the diet of cats?
1- Misty hair structure

Cats' healthy and shiny coats are closely related to the food they consume. A cat's skin and coat are healthy thanks to essential fatty acids. For this, foods containing omega-3 and omega-6 should be selected. If your cat's coat is matted, make sure that the food they consume contains omega-3 and omega-6. If not, get foods that contain them.

2- Fatigue

Fatigue is an important indicator for cats to change their food. However, it is not the only indicator. This is why a veterinarian's opinion should be sought first when a cat is experiencing fatigue. In addition, it is normal for cats that have recently been ill, have undergone an operation or are under stress to experience fatigue. Foods containing antioxidants are an important tool to solve this situation. You can give food with antioxidants to strengthen the cat's immune system and resolve fatigue.

3 - Changing age

The foods that cats should consume also vary according to age. For older cats, foods with low calorie values but high fiber levels should be preferred. Depending on your cat's condition, foods that provide antioxidants and joint support should be preferred.

4 - Changes in the abdominal area

Cats can develop abdominal fat. Abdominal fat can appear in a short time. In this case, foods that do not reduce the nutritional value while reducing the caloric value should be preferred. It should not be forgotten that overweight is a problem for cats. If the cat's weight is excessive, the veterinarian's opinion should be sought.

5 - Monitor the stool

A cat's feces can share with you some clues about their diet. In addition, rumbling tummies can reveal various aspects of their diet. Not all cats will accept all kinds of food. In these cases, the food changes recommended by your veterinarian are very important for your cat's health.

6 - Your cat may be allergic

Cats can be allergic to various foods. If a cat is itching endlessly, this may indicate an allergic condition. Switching to non-allergenic foods is very important in these cases. Your veterinarian will advise you on the necessary food.
